Our long-term goal is to expand nationally, hosting events in all 50 states, ensuring that vital local needs are not overlooked. We aim to collaborate with local leaders and community stakeholders to identify and support individuals and families in need. Our mission is to create a lasting, Profound impact on both local and national communities.
The Good For Something Foundation's Helping Heroes initiative is dedicated to supporting first responders injured in the line of duty. This funding is particularly critical for volunteer first responders, who make up a significant portion of emergency personnel. Unlike their full-time counterparts, many volunteer firefighters, and auxiliary police officers, have other primary jobs to support themselves and their families. An injury sustained during service can have far-reaching consequences, not only impacting their ability to perform their volunteer duties but also affecting their regular employment, creating financial and emotional strain. Even minor injuries can disrupt their livelihoods, leading to lost wages, increased medical expenses, and prolonged recovery times. By providing direct financial assistance, the Helping Heroes initiative offers a vital safety net, ensuring that these brave individuals can focus on healing without the added stress of financial burdens. A small contribution can make a profound difference, empowering first responders to recover and return to their roles in protecting and serving their communities.
Supporting those in need extends beyond providing housing; mental health often plays a significant role in many challenges people face. Unfortunately, access to mental health care is difficult, with individuals encountering extremely long wait times to speak with someone, and when they finally can, the cost is often prohibitive.
The Good For Something Foundation is addressing this critical issue by developing FreePsyc, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at transforming mental health care. We are collaborating with mental health providers nationwide to design and launch a free, user-friendly online portal and application. This platform will offer fast, free, and around-the-clock access to mental health professionals.
This initiative is made possible through the generous contributions of time from dedicated providers and monetary donations to the foundation, as well as support from our fundraising events. Together, we are committed to making mental health care accessible to everyone, whenever they need it.
